Almost at the end of my week on Skye.
Went on another boat trip this morning. It was a 90 minute one, so a lot shorter than the last one, but it was a specialised White Tailed Sea Eagle one. They throw in fish (already dead) for them and they sometimes come down for them. The weather was pretty rubbish while we were on the boat, it was very very cold, windy and a bit rainy so I was expecting to see nothing. The sea eagle came right down to the boat and picked up the fish before flying away again. AMAZING. They have an 8ft wingspan and are MASSIVE. I got very excited! I've got a couple of pictures, but the boat was all over the place in the choppy water so they're quite grainy. On the return journey Ant noticed something jump out of the water by the boat, followed by something else. They were Common Dolphins!!!!! Further away from the boat a pod of Porpoise were then spotted. They aren't as confident as dolphins so don't come as close to boats. Amazing to see.
